## Remaining problems At master `2291342`, the `apache-release` profile merges overlapping executions: - **Signing:** root/Loader `sign-artifacts` coexists with Apache parent 23's `sign-release-artifacts`. - **Tools attachments:** `create-source-jar` and `create-javadoc-jar` coexist with inherited `attach-sources` and `attach-javadocs`. - **Spark sources:** the merged `attach-sources` execution contains both `jar` and `jar-no-fork` goals. A Java 17 probe using Maven 3.9.11's actual model-merging classes confirmed these overlaps. Full release/deployment behavior still needs verification. ## Scope and acceptance - Reuse one signing execution and one producer per intended source/Javadoc artifact; preserve required plugin configuration and test artifacts. - Assert the merged release configuration under Java 17. - Verify a release smoke test with temporary test credentials and a local file repository: one signature per artifact, no `.asc.asc`, and no duplicate attachments. - Confirm the generated source archive builds without `.git` or `.github`. Keep dependency upgrades and broad POM/script rewrites out of this fix.
