## Before ➡️ After **Before:** Deployment flows do not expose ToplingDB consistently, and persisting the entire application directory can hide new image binaries during replacement. **After:** Select a checksum-pinned community JNI through existing Docker, Compose and Helm flows. Persist data/WAL directories instead of application installations, and permit qualified matching-version runtime switches on retained PVCs while preserving storage, identity, replica and Raft protections. HStore Server keeps its standard runtime. ## Why Change the runtime without accidentally retaining old binaries or treating image selection as unrestricted storage-format migration. ## Validation boundary The author reports local JNI compatibility, data-preservation and chart checks. Complete standard-image→Topling-image replacement and publication qualification remain in progress; no live Helm upgrade is claimed. Linux amd64 requires the supported Haswell-class CPU features. Stop/switch/start and return paths require compatible versions and normal shutdown. A known HStore frontend cleanup error remains separate and unresolved.
