## Before → After RAG requests have no shared configurable query-length limit. Add `RAG_QUERY_MAX_LENGTH` (default: 50 characters) and reject over-limit queries in the API models and interactive RAG paths before running the pipeline. Document the setting and add focused API/demo regression tests. ## Validation boundary This preserves the original source branch. It is a historical change that has not been synchronized with current upstream; API compatibility, merge conflicts and test effectiveness still require review. No current-head independent test, performance or release acceptance is claimed.
