Verification details below are reported by the source PR; ASF CI has not yet run for this pull request. ## Summary - Replace the oversized root README with a concise tool-selection guide, one dependency diagram, focused quick starts and links to module-owned details. - Add `docs/README.md` as the cross-module documentation index and define ownership across module READMEs, repository docs, website docs and agent guidance. - Reduce the `.serena` material from roughly 2,900 lines of copied workflows, fixed versions, onboarding status and stale Java requirements to a compact set of module maps, validation boundaries and source links. - Simplify `AGENTS.md` around module ownership and dependency-aware validation instead of duplicating complete build and architecture manuals. - Set Markdown editor guidance to logical paragraphs with a 160-character review guide and no automatic wrapping while typing. ## Key behavior preserved - The Java client remains the shared dependency for Loader, Hubble, Tools and the Spark connector. - Client changes still require downstream validation; Loader and Client changes still require Hubble consideration. - Detailed CI and Java migration guidance remains in `docs/ci.md` and `docs/java17-migration.md`. - Module-specific commands and configuration remain owned by the nearest module. ## Validation - Documentation-only change; no Java, frontend, Go, Maven dependency or packaging behavior changed. - Verified referenced modules, scripts and documents against the repository tree and root Maven module list. - `Module validation` passes: CI policy/runtime fixture tests, merged release profile validation, license header checks and RAT succeeded; unrelated module jobs were skipped by the docs-only selection policy. - Reviewed the complete 12-file diff, with stale Serena content intentionally replaced rather than copied forward. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
