rdblue commented on issue #690: Shading Arrow dependencies URL: https://github.com/apache/incubator-iceberg/pull/690#issuecomment-564722482 After talking with @samarthjain, it sounds like the reason why Spark classes are in the Arrow module is because we still need to refactor to separate the Parquet/Arrow code from the Arrow/Spark code. Since this blocks testing without recompiling Spark, I'll go ahead and merge it into the vectorized read branch and we can fix the problems in the refactor or before merging to master.
