   ### Feature Request / Improvement

This is more of food-for-thought than a standard feature request. However it
would be interesting to take a look at. When performing the standard
`remove_orphan_files` stored proc, this tends to take a while to complete. Is
there any way of tagging the orphaned objects to be gc later on via the S3
lifecycle policy?

This would not only be an option that is appended to the
`remove_orphan_files` stored proc, but can also be used within other operations
as well, if we know that file is considered to be "orphaned" moving forwards.

The reason I'm asking is we already perform this functionality for delete
tags and create tags, so why not orphan tags? (Again, I'm not familiar with any
internal workings of Iceberg)
