It appears that the current behavior does not restore Hive NULL partitions (__HIVE_DEFAULT_PARTITION__) back to actual NULL values during the migrate process. While this may be a design limitation, from a user perspective it changes the NULL semantics, which makes it feel closer to a bug. I would appreciate the maintainers’ feedback on whether this behavior is intended or if it should be considered for improvement. If this is something that needs to be addressed, I would be happy to work on a fix and submit a PR.
