@rdblue, @RussellSpitzer: Any thoughts around this? I think this change is good to go, but I would value your input as it touches on a fundamental part of Iceberg. I think it would be a good addition as I have seen many issues with stopping threadpools at the end of the JVM and this allows users to overwrite the default behavior and still doesn't change it for the ones not interested. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
