I agree that we aren't actually altering the table and its a bit weird to use `ALTER`. The only concern I had w/ `DROP` as the first token in the command is the chance of someone `DROP TABLE`-ing on accident. Maybe its my tendency to act before I think but I don't like making it easier for me to do damage.
