Decoding UDF metadata into a reused receiver currently retains fields omitted from the new JSON document. A malformed document without `definitions` can therefore pass validation using definitions from an earlier decode, and the cached definition index can also remain stale after a successful replacement. Decode and validate fresh metadata state before assigning it to the receiver, then initialize the lookup cache against the replacement state.
