@laskoviymishka @u70b3 @aryan-212 since the author has been away since June and this keeps going stale, we're happy to carry it: we can open a successor PR that keeps @glitchy's commits and authorship, with main merged in and the review fixes from glitchy/iceberg-rust#4 on top (one commit per review point, each with a test), and address the September review there. @aryan-212 you offered in August, if you'd rather drive it we'll send our fixes to your branch instead.
