### What Avoid copying unescaped members while parsing Variant paths. ### Why Most path members do not need unescaping, so these copies add work and allocations. ### Implementation - Keep unescaped path members as slices of the input. - Copy only when decoding escapes is needed. ### Benchmark - Go 1.26.3, Apple M1 Pro, median of 5 runs. - Four-member path: 219.3 → 103.3 ns/op (about 2.1x), 112 → 64 B/op, 6 → 1 allocations. - Escaped-quote control: 71.0 → 72.2 ns/op, with 2 allocations in both versions. - These benchmarks measure Variant path parsing. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
