# Rationale for this change
The REST spec marks `metadata-location` as required in
[`LoadViewResult`](https://github.com/apache/iceberg/blob/main/open-api/rest-catalog-open-api.yaml#L4559-L4577)
(unlike `LoadTableResult`, where it is nullable for staged tables), and Java's
`LoadViewResponseParser` rejects responses without it. This makes
`ViewResponse.metadata_location` required to match.
## Are these changes tested?
Yes, added `test_load_view_missing_metadata_location`.
- `uv run pytest tests/catalog/test_rest.py`: 175 passed
- `make lint`: passed
## Are there any user-facing changes?
Yes. `create_view`, `load_view`, and `register_view` now raise a pydantic
`ValidationError` when a REST server omits `metadata-location`.
