I have a local fix for this, tested against main at 06a529d. It trims snapshot-log through the last expired entry, as required by the spec, so timestamp lookups no longer fall back to an older snapshot across the gap. Retained snapshots remain accessible by ID. The tests cover expiration by ID and by age, persisted metadata, and catalog reloads. The full local unit suite and lint checks pass. Is btw anyone already working on this? Otherwise, I would like to send a focused PR. AI disclosure: I have used Codex for the implementation, regression tests, and local test execution. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
