@iemejia I would like to sort this out, before opening a new discussion :) But I think it is an import thing to address, as it slows down the throughput of the pipeline, and increases the costs (because of the increased number of operations). Iceberg doesn't rely on renames, as it is build with object stores in mind. I'm happy to add the read part later on, but if you feel like it, feel free to pick it up.
