## Problem - #17562 added the `scanDuration` read metric to Spark 4.1. Review there asked for a 4.2 port. ## Fix - Same change on Spark 4.2: each task reports the time it spends reading its splits, in nanoseconds, shown in the Spark UI. - The 4.1 diff applies cleanly with only the path changed. ## Testing - `TestSparkReadMetrics`, `TestScanDuration` and `TestBaseReader` pass on 4.2. - `spotlessCheck` and `checkstyle` pass. ## AI Disclosure - Model: Claude Opus 5.5 - Platform/Tool: Claude Code - Human Oversight: partially reviewed - Prompt Summary: Port the merged Spark 4.1 scanDuration metric (#17562) to Spark 4.2. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
