I agree w/ @RussellSpitzer on complex types. How would a deeply nested structure look w/ default types? I can definitely see the value in default values but I am having a hard time figuring out all the downstream effects: how does Spark handle these, how do they work in the Arrow based vectorised readers etc. Some more context on the effects on other systems would be useful for me to understand this change better. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
