@RussellSpitzer , @rdblue : This is just a back synch of changes from PR #3469 to spark3.1, 3.0, spark2.4. This PR has 3 commits for easy review and comparison. Spark-3.1,3.0 changes are identical to 3.2. Spark-2.4 doesn't have call procedure and Spark3 actions. So, handled all the applicable changes.
