Review Comment:
   Yea I was thinking at the very beginning of the method, before we put the 
ALTER_TABLE?  Yea it may be better for understanding of the code if we have 
both checks, but you are right it's not a big deal in practice, just in the 
rare case there's a patched version of Hive 2 out there that has alter_table 
without 5 arguments.
