There are several points here:
* eager GC that we have shouldn't be executed in the same thread, where we
process updates. This requirement is no more. The impact of GC should be as
minimal as possible
* we need a benchmark - there's constant load, that updates a limited set of
keys, imitating realistic scenario for some clients. We need to know the
results with and without GC, and how much they differ
* ideally, GC should only work when there's no concurrent load, or at least
not much of it. We shouldn't steal resources from transactions, if it's
possible. This is the trickiest part, in our estimation
