Tobias Hofer created IGNITE-20859:
-------------------------------------

             Summary: NullPointerException during topology changes
                 Key: IGNITE-20859
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IGNITE-20859
             Project: Ignite
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 2.15, 2.14
            Reporter: Tobias Hofer

The following NullPointerException occurs in version 2.14:
{code:java}
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke
"org.apache.ignite.internal.processors.cache.transactions.IgniteInternalTx.entry(org.apache.ignite.internal.processors.cache.transactions.IgniteTxKey)"
 because "tx" is null at
org.apache.ignite.internal.processors.cache.GridCacheMapEntry.innerRemove(GridCacheMapEntry.java:1794)
 ~[?:?] at
org.apache.ignite.internal.processors.cache.transactions.IgniteTxLocalAdapter.lambda$userCommit$1(IgniteTxLocalAdapter.java:821)
 ~[?:?] at
org.apache.ignite.internal.processors.cache.transactions.IgniteTxLocalAdapter.updateNearEntrySafely(IgniteTxLocalAdapter.java:1006)
 ~[?:?] at
org.apache.ignite.internal.processors.cache.transactions.IgniteTxLocalAdapter.userCommit(IgniteTxLocalAdapter.java:821)
 ~[?:?] {code}
Looking at the code in 2.15, 2.16 or master branches the potential NPE is still
there:

It's not clear when exactly the NPE occurs. But it seems to be related with
topology changes during active transactions.

It occurs randomly, but repeatedly during high load of transactions.
