Summary: Enrich meta-storage compaction logs

* Log when we start compacting.
* Log the compaction duration.
* The number of compacted entries.
* Maybe the number of individual versions that we deleted.
* While holding the lock, we should log an average lock wait time, or an
average lock hold time. Maybe not an average. But we should write something.
* Some additional implementation-specific metrics, like we do with checkpoints
in aipersist, for example
