Description:
I'm mainly interested in "segments" and "checkpointPool" fields in
PersistentPageMemory, they're volatile for no good reason.
VolatilePageMemory shall also be refactored.

us to delete "start" method, which is fine because it is always called right
after calling the constructor.
VolatilePageMemory shall also be refactored.
