AFAIK, it has a wire protocol changes, but we are using a Java client, and it
looks like it has a good compatibility through many versions.

update it to the highest 1.1.1 (we can consider 2.0 in following releases).
Sure, I will review after you update the version.
It could be not easy to update Kafka Connect modules though.
Anyway, I would suggest to merge
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IGNITE-7752 first. Our streamer is using
a very old consumer which doesn't support security features, for instance. It
would be great if you could review it.
