Konstantin Boudnik commented on IGNITE-1269:
--------------------------------------------

The scenario you proposed is exactly what I did. I posted the fix on the email
thread after the successful testing on the cluster. I think it'd be a huge
effort to test this in the Ignite, but having such an integration test in
Bigtop would be relatively easy and natural from the integration standpoint.

As for the reason behind it: with Ignite 1.3 a user has an ability to build and
stand-up a Bigtop cluster with ignite-hadoop and spark in it and run
spark-shell pointing to ignite-spark from an external repository. And it would
work, except that indexing isn't there and if automatically pulled via
spark-shell "--packages" cmd-option, it won't be available for the server
nodes, where it needs to be. That's how we might get a non-working use-cases
even without supplying ignite-spark as a part of Bigtop.

So, I'd say let's have this fix in place that will at least address the
immediate issue and then work on adding ignite-spark into Bigtop distribution.
Thoughts?

> ignite-hadoop accelerator was complemented with spark accelerator. However,
> the latter can not so SQL queries against Ignite cache if Ignite's indexing
> layer isn't present. Let's include indexing as a dependency to ignite-hadoop.
> Potentially ignite-spark needs to be added as well.
> This issue is observed in release 1.3, but there's no such version in the
> JIRA. Why and how it got released without proper JIRA version?
