A quick note: There is now jena-iri - https://github.com/apache/jena/issues/2800 It should be checked whether IRI parsing still uses global locks that impact the performance of concurrent parsing. I just had a discussion with a colleague about (potential) issues with concurrent RDF processing and this was one of them.
