When using nanotime, JMeter regularly (default every 5s) recalculates its offset from systemTime, so even if the nanotimer is static it should not behave as we are seeing. Also, the start time is calaculated using the same clock type, and the start time appears to be OK in the result file - it is incrementing normally.
