Apart from that, please give details about the used versions of JMeter, JVM and OS. It might be important to know the locale you used. And it is always a good idea to attach a minimal testplan, that can be used to demonstrate the problem. Note, that my experiments with a JSR223-Sampler and the given RandomDate function worked without any error. What I do see, is that the text strings 08 and 09 are marked differently in the text view, but the samples are not marked as errors.
