Well, I actually don't like it much.  If http isn't a minimal osgi http service 
anymore, I'd rather combine http and war together.    I'm not sure that a new 
feature in-between for the extender would make much sense either, so maybe a 
single one would be best.

On a side note, we need to be careful about changing the semantics of the 
features because other projects can rely on those, so if we just remove the war 
(or http) feature, we will certainly break downstream projects, which is not a 
good idea.  Not sure yet how to handle that, but we need to keep that in mind.
