Unless I'm mistaken Karaf would turn instantly into a powerhouse if it could
leverage Eclipse' p2 abilities. Specifying a p2 repository and handing Karaf
an Eclipse feature.xml file (or the URL to a jar with a feature.xml in it)
would make for amazing deployment integration.
