The last paragraph in
trunk/shell/config/src/main/resources/org/apache/karaf/shell/config/edit.txt
talks about an option that doesn't exist:

The --factory option can be used to create a new configuration for a given
factory pid. The parameter will be used as the factory pid and the
configuration pid will be generated. Note that this option

I'm not attaching a patch because I'm not sure if the --factory switch will be
created for the next version along.
