Christian Schneider commented on KARAF-1282:
--------------------------------------------
I wonder if this is also an issue for users that simply want to compile there
own bundles on JDK 7. In case it is an issue I think we should create a osgi
spec bundle at servicemix or felix that contains the correct sources / build
rules so it works. At least for users it does not make sense to depend on karaf
main or the felix impl. Instead they should be able to depend on a pure spec
jar.
I think it could make sense to have this project in felix and build a jsr14
version and version without that target. So people can choose in their build
which to choose. Another option would of course be to not support Java 1.4
anymore but I do not know if this is an option for the felix project.

> Currently we have the sources of the OSGi framework and service classes in
> the karaf.main module. JB wrote that this was because of some build problems
> on JDK 7 and that he is not sure if that is still necessary.
> So where is our status there? Can we remove these sources again?
