if you try to download eik from trunk,
compile install EIk plugin and try to create new runtime you get

Probably there is a problem in the packaging.
The class MvnURLConnectionFactory is present in org.ops4j.pax.url.mvn
repackaging.
I think that during compilation phase it get the standard org.ops4j.pax.url.mvn
and not
eik plugins that contains the class.
I try to investigate ASAP
