This java version check doesn't appear to work for me on either Solaris 11 or
Redhat 5.7 (2.6.18-274.el5xen) boxes.
For some reason the '\d' in the egrep pattern doesn't match the digit but
replacing when replaced with [0-9] the check works fine.
I've attached the patch.
