Sorry, I should have been clearer, for adding it to the repos file I though 
more of the 
{code}etc/org.apache.karaf.features.repos.cfg {code}
file then the features.cfg
Of course the features command and features.cfg does accept a http url for 
accessing, though the repos.cfg, which is more generic for resolving current 
available features, independent of a version require a maven coordinate.
