+1 this possibility is really interesting.

For an internal project, I had a try with the official sql server driver but it 
brings some complexity. Need to wrap the driver as a bundle, can't redistribute 
the driver, make the jdbc:command able to load the driver class...

I was in the process of looking at jtds but another priority was raised.
