Thanks to Guillaume for working on this, even if the fix was reverted.
Just a quick rundown of the problem:
If you install a feature, then the bundles contained in it will be not checked
for updates if they are of a snapshot version.
The initial fix seemed to be to pass through the updateSpnapshot strategy:
