I checked your pull request. Unfortunately it does not work.
In the start method you need to register the ManagedService like in the config
admin tutorial. You should also not register the Appender service directly in
the start method. Please make sure you test the code.
You should do the following to test the code:
Install the elastic search appender feature without a config file. It should
come up with the default elastic search host and port.
Then create a config file for it and it should switch to the new host/port.
