I had to implement this for my own use while trying to get our complicated
authn/authz setup working. I got permission from my employer to share my work.
Done as a standalone plugin, it's currently here:
https://github.com/dfjdejulio/karaf-whoami
I'd be willing to turn that into a pull request for Karaf, given guidance on
the best way to go about that.
