Jean-Baptiste Onofré commented on KARAF-6791:
---------------------------------------------

You can use sftp via the ssh server embedded in Karaf. However, you will
certainly have to restart Karaf and so you will loose the SSH connection during
the restart. Not sure, it's the best approach, but it's probably do-able.

> Can the remote SSH server be used to remotely update an entire karaf
> installation including installed libraries, even if it's an older version of
> Karaf?

> I'm researching the possibility to remotely update our agents, which are
> essentially Karaf installs with customization (about a dozen changed files in
> the bin and etc folders, a log directory in KARAF_BASE instead of
> KARAF_BASE/data, and then about a bunch of additional feature jars in the
> system folder with included bundles). I came across
> [https://karaf.apache.org/manual/latest/remote], and I was wondering if I
> could use this remote install feature to remotely update the entire Karaf
> installation, including from older versions (4.0.7 most likely). Has this
> been done before? Would this even be possible in this way?
