Started hacking on this here: http://gerrit.cloudera.org:8080/3722
It's a fairly invasive project though (wire protocol changes, changes to both
clients, changes to predicate pushdown, partitioning, and more) so not sure how
quickly we'll be able to push it over the finish line.
