I reported this issue to the CM team at Cloudera, but sounds like it will be a
while before the NPE will be fixed. In the meantime, and to support upgrade for
users of earlier CM versions, we should make our 'generate_mdl.py' script
generate stub metrics definitions for the removed metrics that are marked as
'deprecated'.
