Billy(Yiming) Liu updated KYLIN-1898:
-------------------------------------
    Attachment: KYLIN-1898.patch

The patch upgrades the Calcite-core and Calcite-linq4j to 1.8. Since the hive
0.14 still depends on org.apache.calcite:calcite-avatica, not latest
org.apache.calcite.avatica:avatica, I have left a workaround for this case.

            <!-- Workaround for hive 0.14 avatica dependency -->
            <dependency>
                <groupId>org.apache.calcite</groupId>
                <artifactId>calcite-avatica</artifactId>
                <version>1.6.0</version>
                <exclusions>
                    <exclusion>
                        <groupId>com.google.protobuf</groupId>
                        <artifactId>protobuf-java</artifactId>
                    </exclusion>
                </exclusions>
            </dependency>

> A [stackoverflow

> reports problems when mixing Avatica 1.6 (used by Kylin) and Avatica 1.8
> (used by some unspecified other database). It appears that 1.6 and 1.8 are
> not compatible, probably due to CALCITE-836 or CALCITE-1213. The solution is
> for Kylin to upgrade to 1.8 or higher.
