Richard Calaba commented on KYLIN-2094:
---------------------------------------

Just to add few more details:

 - I though it could be some wrong compilation of the binary package downloaded
-> so tried to re-compile kylin 1.5.4.1 from sources as described here
(https://kylin.apache.org/development/howto_package.html) with one exception -
instead of cloning latest branch I am cloning the released sources tagged by
kylin-1.5.4.1 git tag

- even the compilation & packaging succeedes - if I install and start Kylin
1.5.4.1 from the source files compiled -> it doesn't start (some issues in the
log, the UI never comes to logon screen).

- Interestingly the same process for git tag kylin-1.5.3 works fine and Kylin
starts okay -> but I still have some issues - see this JIRA for 1.5.3 error:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KYLIN-2104

- I also tried to compile latest master branch - Kylin 1.6.0-SNAPSHOT - but I
have same problems as with 1.5.4.1 sources ...
