Excuse me for butting in.  I think that philosophy he's describing is
called "positivism," which does not allow credit for rational choices.
I think Ayn Rand popularized it (probably in the previous millenium,
by the time you read this).  

I wouldn't justify all this as "education."  It's more like trivia.  :)
