I think it's worth keeping it at 64 because the narrower window provides meaningful feedback to the system. I commented above because I did not want to make this decision unilaterally without sharing the observation that the single threaded hot loop case is somewhat slower for what appears to be a contrived case (I expect most inputs are accessed from multiple threads/cores and that prefetched data is consumed most of the time). -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
