Cassandra Targett commented on SOLR-14066: ------------------------------------------ Just a rather late comment that this issue started out about just deprecating DIH and now is tracking the full migration of DIH to a 3rd party package...could we update the title of this issue to reflect what is really happening? Like instead of "Deprecate DIH" as the title, make it something like "Deprecate DIH and Migrate to Package"? That of course assumes the deprecation and removal will all be done in the same general time period so it's not confusing that DIH gets deprecated in 8.6 but we leave the issue open and 4 releases later the package replacement is actually ready. Later on that sort of disconnect gets *really* confusing to remember via the Jira comments. > Deprecate DIH > ------------- > > Key: SOLR-14066 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-14066 > Project: Solr > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: contrib - DataImportHandler > Reporter: Ishan Chattopadhyaya > Assignee: Ishan Chattopadhyaya > Priority: Blocker > Fix For: 8.6 > > Attachments: image-2019-12-14-19-58-39-314.png > > Time Spent: 40m > Remaining Estimate: 0h > > DataImportHandler has outlived its utility.
