There is plenty of time. I think there will be two more 8.x releases. CDCR is a
totally broken solution. Whether or not there exists an alternative or not, we
cannot carry the burden of CDCR for another full major release.
bq. I've never used this CDCR approach, but saw questions and answers about it
in the mailing lists.
It is good that we deprecated it now, and now we can just tell people not to
use it.
