P.S.: If this fixes the problem we know fo sure: The bug with the broken optimizations due to the capturing existed since longer time, it was just not visible due to: - no call-site pollution - not used during indexing If we see a speedup this may also affect queries using GroupVInt encoding. In addition the NIOFSDr and ByteBuffers directory were possibly also affected by the capturing lambda, but I think due to different optimizations, the escape analysis worked fine. Capturing Lambdas are not an issue in general, they are only an additional thing that can go wrong. So please don't start and try to avoid capturing lambdas everywhere! The optimizer is good to remove them, so don't worry!!!
