While working on a POC to integrate with this feature, I ran into an issue. I had my 🤖 put together a fix. It's in this commit https://github.com/apache/lucene/commit/5b726e0847ac8fa6263c0b9c32ec4cb53c131a44. I haven't had a chance to fully make sense of the proposed change.
